360 Life is one of our Act4You accounts. It is an honour and a privilege for us to partner with 360 Life and the incredible work they are doing. Here's some background on the amazing initiative and what it's all about.
‘Living out your God-created identity’: Matthew 5:48
360 Life is a Christian-based training package that can act as a toolkit for organisations who are seeking to deliver their services using a more trauma-informed approach. It can bring wide-reaching benefits for the participants and those with whom they live life. It is relevant for churches, clergy, victims of trauma, counsellors, prison staff, teachers, students, team-members, team-leaders, parents, and married couples. It is relevant to 360 degrees of life.
360 Life: helping you understand you and your brain, to enhance living, learning, working and well-being
Why do we need this training?
Mental health issues are now considered to be a global pandemic, and there is a strong correlation between trauma suffered by an individual, and the development of mental health disorders. Many people feel guilt and shame about how they perceive themselves and their ability to cope with day-to-day experiences. They don’t understand the reasons behind some of their ‘unwise’ life choices and irrational or unusual behaviours. This can result in poor self-worth and self-esteem, expressed as negative behaviours or mental health issues.
Each of us is unique, and we are shaped by our life experiences. Negative, traumatic or challenging experiences in childhood and adulthood are external factors that can impact our day-to-day behaviours, and our life choices.
Understanding how our brain works brings a deeper understanding of who we are and why we are the way we are. It helps us clarify our identity and understand why we make certain choices and respond in particular ways. Recognising the impact of external influences on how we function can bring acceptance and healing and start a move away from any sense of shame that hinders personal growth. This knowledge can help individuals discover a pathway to a healthier and more positive view of themselves and lead to a place of wellbeing, flourishing, and celebrating the individual as a wonderful and loved creation of God. This knowledge also helps participants to understand others better, and to have a greater insight into how best to support those they are in contact with.
‘360 Life’ takes the participants on a journey of understanding all the above and discovering what it means for themselves alongside relating it to their different life roles.
The workshop can be delivered as an overview presentation to larger audiences or as in-depth workshops for targeted audiences. Workshops include key tools to enable participants to put the learning into practice in their particular ‘workplace’.
The content of this programme has been drawn together from a number of sources and influenced by a series of conversations with various organisations that the author has been working with in sub-Saharan Africa.
360 Life has been compiled by Dr. Helen Harrison (PhD). For further information and to discuss your particular requirements, please contact Helen via helen@360life.one or WhatsApp: +44 7966 034 584
Please keep 360 Life, Helen Harrison and everyone involved in this project in your prayers. They are making such an amazing impact and we look forward to continuing the partnership with them.
